Arcing Prisms combines a frequency shifter and a comb filter/delay line, locked together in a spiraling feedback loop of warped modulation. See here for a full description of features and sound clips.

The name Arcing Prisms is my way of thinking about how a frequency shifter bends and spreads out the harmonic frequencies of a sound, similar to how a prism bends the different frequencies (colors) of light to turn white light into a rainbow. This engraved and hand-painted edition of the AP is a visual representation of that process.

(The “arcing” part is the delay line and feedback path – as the sound leaves one “prism” it enters another and gets bent again, potentially over and over depending on the amount of feedback – “arcing” from one “prism” to another and being slightly, or greatly, transformed each time.)
